I am a french self-employed (freelance) developer. I have had a developer account on the Apple Developer site and publishing apps since 2011.
For the last month, I have not been able to create new versions of my apps because Apple is asking me to complete a tax form : "You have one or more tax forms left to complete for your account. Please submit them as soon as possible. Add a tax form."
On the Business page of the App Store Connect site, there is a "U.S. Substitute Form W-8BEN-E" waiting to fill up. As far as I understand, as a self-employed (freelance) developer I should not fill this form but rather the "U.S. Substitute Form W-8BEN" form.
The "U.S. Substitute Form W-8BEN-E" form only shows status of entity types for organisations, and does not seem to accept independent developers.
I have no idea why this "U.S. Substitute Form W-8BEN-E" has appeared but most of all I do not know how to dismiss it and replace it with a "U.S. Substitute Form W-8BEN" form.
I wrote to Apple Support which adviced me to write to Apple Financial Support. Which I did 10 days ago, but have received no reply so far.
This is highly penalizing as I cannot create new versions for my apps, which is totally blocking for my development.
Has anyone experienced the same problem ? Is that a bug on the App Store Connect site ?
