Is MFi needed if using iAP on Bluetooth?

Hi,

We are developing a Bluetooth peripheral that shall interact with an iOS based device (e.g. iPhone 7). Bluetooth Classic shall be used to improve speed communication.

For the peripheral, we are using the Bluetooth module RN4678 from Microchip: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/50002519A.pdf

We are developing the application using the iAP profile which is already supported by the RN4678 Module. Shall we go through the MFi Program if we are using a Module that is already MFi?

Regards,

Andres
