iPadOS software improvement

As a devoted Apple ecosystem user, I’ve bought pretty much every device out there for both my wife and myself ranging from the new iPhones and iPad Pros/Airs, to the latest AirPods, Apple Watch, and more.
However, I have to say that iPadOS still feels limited. As an undergraduate student majoring in Business Administration and Economics, I constantly run into formatting issues when opening Word and Excel files. They frequently open backwards and scrambled, and the only way to fix it is by downloading and re-uploading them to Word. On the MacBook, by contrast, these files open smoothly and correctly.
The iOS 26 update is wonderful and genuinely gives the iPad massive computing power, which is awesome. But I wish the iPad could push even further. I believe that if users could work on the iPad exactly the way they do on a Mac with full mouse functionality (including lock keys like fn) it would drastically improve sales and user experience. People would easily turn the iPad into their go to portable personal computer, reserving the Mac for heavier workloads. Especially now, with the touch screen MacBook entering the picture, a software boost would allow the iPad to put up a serious fight.
Additionally, whenever you open Split View between two apps, their functions shift and some of them end up hidden.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, and a huge thank you for all the hard work!
