Same question as in title. I can't update my laptop to sierra can I no longer use xcode? I'm just curious if I'm $hit out of luck and that apple is requiring me to get a new laptop? If there are any alternatives out there please let me know. I can't use xcode on any computers at my school because of the OS they use is outdate for secuirty reasons and my laptop was my last resort.

See the Xcode wiki for which version works with your macOS, then use the resources link above, then downloads, then the 'more dev downloads' link at the bottom, and search there. May require paid dev program account to access, tho.
Also, note that there may be restrictions on what you can do w/older tools.
