Any major issues in WatchOS 2 Beta 3

any major issues/defects/bugs being seen in WatchOS 2 Beta 3

It doesn't appear to be on OTA yet.

correct me if I am wrong but the Watchos 2 beta are not the same traditional OTA updates like iOS, see below...

1. To update the software on your Apple Watch, you'll need to:

• Make sure your Apple Watch has at least a 50 percent charge.

• Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.

• Keep your iPhone next to your Apple Watch to make sure they're in range.

• Your iPhone must be running iOS 9 beta to install watchOS 2 beta.

2. Connect your Apple Watch to power, and keep it on the charger until the update is complete.

3. Download the Configuration Profile from the Apple Developer watchOS download page.

On your iPhone: Download the Configuration Profile directly on your iPhone and follow the

installation instructions.

On your Mac: Save the file to your hard disk and email it to an account on your iPhone. Tap the

Configuration Profile in Mail and follow the installation instructions.

4. After launching the profile, tap Apple Watch as the installation location then reboot when prompted.

5. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and tap My Watch > General > Software Update.

6. If asked for your iPhone passcode or Apple Watch passcode, enter the passcodes.

7. Wait for the Apple logo with progress bar to appear. When the update finishes, your Apple Watch

will restart.

Yes I've done all that, it still isn't appearing in the software update section. I don't see the iOS 9 OTA update either yet.

You would need to have the phone updated to iOS 9 Beta 3 before trying to update the watch. That said I would just go to the downloads section download it there and do the update through iTunes if you are not seeing the OTA update to iOS

App compiled from Xcode won't run on beta 3 anymore (runs fine on simulator though).

Keeps rebooting once every hour - some activity/workouts don't display heartrate at all.

My watch bricked after the update to WatchOS 2 Beta 3. Got the "Red Exclaimation of Death" AKA REoD (nickname I made up). So I cant use it anymore. 😟 600 paperweight.

I would contact Apple about that. I'm sure they can help get your watch unbricked.

So far, it is MUCH better. They only problem I am having is with ApplePay. I'm starting another thread on that...

I got that too, but a hard reboot solved the REoD 🙂

+1 on Apple Pay problems. After a reset of the watch, I can't add a card.

Apple Pay and Haptics not working in B3, but that said, Maps works again as approperiate.

I am finding if I turn sounds up all the way they sometimes do not play. Going into the Watch App and setting at 50% appears to correct.

is anyone having major issues with beta 3 release?

for some odd reason i no longer get any notifications of any kind whether i setup as mirror iphone or custom. i also seem to have lost the sound from the alarm clock on the watch.

i tired all the trick that i know to get things back to how it was on WatchOS 1.0.1 (which was not perfect but at least it worked 80% of the time) whithout any success.

does anyone in here have the same issue?

I went to my local Apple Store about the beta "bricking" my watch. The stores (or at least mine) don't have the capability to do a recovery of the watch. I was told they have the tools at higher echelons of support. The next day, I was contacted by someone from Apple about my post on here. They wanted to know more about the watch. I told them I had dropped it off at the apple store. I was shocked (1) Apple techs read these forums (wasnt sure), and (2) it was less than 24 hours after my post they called my phone directly.

Other than ApplePay, I find Beta 3 to be working pretty well.

I get notifications for sure. E-mails are not really working but I am getting texts (most of the time) and things like calendar notifications, etc. Not sure about sound from the alarm clock.

And battery life is back to normal.
