Xcode 7 beta 3: Missing current version declaration

Core data model file is complaining of "Missing current version declaration". It's not clear in Xcode 7 beta 3 how to silence this warning. Even deleting the app from device/simulator shows the same issue. Anyone know where Xcode wants to have this value input?

If your project is under version control, then don't forget to add this file to the tracked files:

git status (to show untracked files)

git add ./YOURPROJECT/YOURPROJECT.xcdatamodeld/.xccurrentversion

git commit -m '.xccurrentversion added'

Dear TommieC,

Thanks for document the detail steps. It really helped me to fix my same issue.

manually adding the version file was just not working for me on Xcode 7 beta 4. However, when I went selected the .xcdatamodelId in xcode, then selected Editor->Add Model Version, it worked. As described at stackoverflow here: http://stackoverflow.com/a/31669725/4092717
