Test locally-running website on PC using USB connected iPhone?

Hi, I need to test a website that I'm developing on my PC with an iPhone. I assumed I could just connect the iPhone to the PC via USB and have it utilise the PC's network connection as I've done in the past with Windows Phone and Android. This would then allow me to run the website locally and then browse it using the iPhone device. However, I don't see any way of getting this working, even though this must be a common scenario? Is there a certain term I should be searching for? Do I need iTunes on the PC? For security reasons I'm not allowed to put a wireless access point on our corporate network.

Thanks

Not for your example, no. The iPhone isn't the USB device you hope it is.

Did you try running Wi-Fi on your PC, making it a local (web) server at your desk (not on the larger corp. network), then connecting your iPhone to that wireless network, using your PC's IP address in Safari from there?

Otherwise, try using a browser on your PC that can enable the required user-agent string for whatever version mobileSafari you expect to support.
