Xcode 9's release notes mentioned a new feature "The Crashes Organizer symbolicates unsymbolicated logs, if they are selected using a local .dSYM indexed by Spotlight. (22550064)", but I don't know how to trigger it? Does it only work with iTunes Connect?
Hi TyngJJ,
For any crash log that you click on in the Crashes Organizer that is not symbolicated, Xcode will automatically attempt to locate the appropriate .dSYM and symbolicate the crash. When you select a crash log that is unsymbolicated you should see a progress indicator in the upper right hand corner of the crash log detail view indicating symbolication. You may trigger a re-symbolication by right-clicking on the crash log you are viewing in the Crashes Organizer and select "Symbolicate". You can find out more about local symbolication in the documentation here https://help.apple.com/xcode/mac/9.0/index.html?localePath=en.lproj#/dev5d9904b70
If you have uploaded symbol information when you upload your app to the App Store the crash log should arrive in the Crashes Organizer fully symbolicated.
If you have any problems with these workflows please let us know at https://bugreport.apple.com
Thanks,
Chris
