What a change in beta 3!

First off, watchOS 2 beta 2 was brutal for me. I would get mabye 3-4 hours battery life and notifcations and Messages did not work at all. I tried deleting all glances and not installing any apps to try and get better battery life, but nothing worked.


I updated my iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 9 beta 3 and installed watchOS 2 beta 3 and everything went well. Had one issue when pairing that it would not connect to the servers when asked for my Apple ID. I turned off Messages on all my devices and then I was able to skip that step.


Once installed, I could use the watch.app to enter my Apple ID.


I have installed all the apps I want to use on the watch and set it up like I want it. Fully charged last night and hoped for the best. Well it has been on my wrist now for about 12 hours and my battery is still at 51%. Simple math shows I should get about 24hours on a single charge then. I do a couple work outs each day though and havent done that yet, so I will see what happens. I have done some stuff on the watch. All my notifications come through. Messages work. I am pretty satisfied with this beta for sure.


Thought I would share in the event anyone was wondering about performance of this beta.

I so much agree. Apple Watch is a whole new experience with beta 3. Beta 2 was really a disaster. But good comes to those who can wait.

The only issue I've had so far is Maps; the actual map doesn't appear. Not a biggie. Otherwise, Apple Watch OS 2 beta 3.

I think the extra power we see in Beta 3 is misleading. Apple stated

1. Apple Pay is not functional with this beta.

2. During an active workout session, new heart rate samples are not generated when the screen is off.

3. Haptic feedback does not work with this beta. (not everyone is experience this)


All of those items drain the battery and they're not working. So I believe its non-operational features that are giving the boost in battery life that we're seeing.

Beta 2 made the watch almost useless. Yesterday, I upgraded to ios9 on my iphone 6 and then upgraded to beta 3 on the watch. Regardless of apple pay functionality and haptic feedback, I'm much more happy with a stable, usable watch that has a battery that lasts well beyond what beta 2 did. I almost just put the watch away till the next beta release. All I did was charge my watch. What a joke. anyway. Messages are working again.

On Watch OS 2 Beta 3 Messages will send as SMS and they will still say not delivered. But when I check my iphone they still send as SMS and get delivered. But when I send Msg's from My iPhone to other people they send as iMessages. This is the only problem I am having. Anyone Know a fix?

Are you running apps using Xcode? How do you do that? 95% of my attempts fail.
