We have about 30 laptops that are connected to the AD domain here and the time server is set to our time server. Half of the laptops are new, as of August 2017 and the other half are about 1 year old. The problems I'm having did not happen to the ones that are one year old, last year.
They are set to connect wirelessly to the domain. When the laptops are left on, lid closed, at the login screen and unplugged and the power drains completely to the point that you have to plug them in for awhile, to even power them up, the time will not sync up to the time server I have it set to. Only when I plug in the ethernet cable will the time sync up again.
This only happens when the power is drained completely. If t they are shut down properly and turned back on a few days later, the time sync is fine, no ethernet cable needed. Only when the power drains completely. This was not an issue when the older ones were running 10.11.x.
It sounds like a battery issue, but 15 of them are new this year and I'm quite sure all 15 don't have bad batteries.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and what they may have done for it?
Thank you,
Joy Seeley
