SSL issue with Sierra and High Sierra

We are a software company that has develop a transactionnal software for Ski Areas Associations in Canada and USA.

This is working for about 9 years


We have multiple sites hosted on 2 windows 2012 server by 1and1

We use IIS8 with a Extend Valude SSL certifcate issued by GeoTrust on the two servers


People who owns a Mac with Sierra and High Siera using Safari or Chrome can't connect due to a question about the SSL Certificate

No Issues if they use Firefox.

No issues with iOS devices.

No issues if people use Windows bases devices

No issues if people use Android based devices

Has anybody an idea about this issue and how we can solve it ?

When I try to connect to that site, from either Safari or Chrome, I get a challenge for client certificates. I don't know much about client certificates. I was able to cancel the request in Chrome and then it loaded the page. In Safari, I can't cancel and if I pick one of those certificates, then I get the error page. The certificates in question were the same as those mentioned in this post on Stack Overflow: apple.stackexchange.com/questions/257694/i-have-several-hundred-expired-certificates-starting-with-com-apple-idms-appleid


I deleted the one expired certifcate and the two valid ones that matched and now I can connect to your site in Safari.
