Apple pay for consultancy services app?

Hi,

We're building an iOS app for our site Jawabkom.com, which has a monthly membership to get expert help. Customers pay a monthly fee, and can talk to any of our experts online. It's similar to tele-medicine companies in the US, however Jawabkom offers more categories of services.

Note that this is not a digital service or a game, our customers talk to real people on the phone or video conference with them. So think of it like a physical appointment with an attorney, taking place via the mobile device.

My question is, can we use Apple Pay for subscription for this app? Or do we have to use in-app purchase APIs?

Note that the business model relies on giving a hefty cut to the experts, similar to Uber. If we pay an additional 30% via in-app purchase for a physical professional service like this, it'd be virtually impossible to build a profitable business. I am curious about Apple's policy on these kinds of apps please.

Thank you for your help,

D.

From what you have described it sounds like Apple Pay would be available as a payment method as you are providing a service for the end user. Apps like babylon currently use Apple Pay for similar purposes without issue.
