Can't open Xcode 6.4 on El Capitan

I can't open XCode 6.4 on El Capitan. The icon has the disabled mask over it, and every time I click it I reviece an alert: "The version of Xcode installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X El Capitan. You have “Xcode” 6.4. Download version 6.4 for free from the Mac App Store."

Does anyone else have this issue? Did anyone else figure out how to fix it? I already tried deleting XCode and reinstalling it from the Mac App Store. I am definitely running XCode 6.4 as the alert says is required, but it won't open.

El Capitan requires Xcode 7

Hey, go to you terminal, and type this:

/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode

I hope it will help you.

That means the warning message that pops up when attempting to open it is quite misleading...

It would be great to require it as soon as it's live on the App Store? It's kind of misleading as long as Xcode 7 is beta.

Also, be careful with Xcode 7, because it requires devieces to use iOS 9. I was half-way through getting ready to distrubute when I figured that out, so if you are going to be working on a project that will be distrubuted, just keep that in mind.

Thank you for your help !!!It worked perfect.

Terminal ---- /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode

No, it does not. Change the base SDK of your project and don't use new API's and you'll be fine.

I was running 6.4 on El Capitan for several weeks, doesn't make sense for it to work fine and then break for no apparent reason.
