How can I create a provisioning profile without an iPhone?

Would like to start testing this app with some people using TestFlight, but when I try and archive my project, I can't. I get the following error message -


Failed to create provisioning profile.

There are no devices registered in your account on the developer website. Plug in and select a device to have Xcode register it.


How can I create a profile without a device to plug in?

You can't.


Using your paid account to distribute apps requires having at least one device connected to Xcode, on your mac, and registered in the Member Center.
