I am about to submit my app to the app store and was wondering if my app is only available in the country I submit, or is it available everywhere?

You'll know that when you reach the step to validate your release and have to select which country(ies) your app would be available in.
Keep in mind, if you want an app to be internationally "viable" (not only available), you'll need, on top of internationalizing and localizing your app itself, to have localized App Store screenshots and app descriptions.
