macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 beta before 10.13.5 release?

What kinda nonsense is this???

What's the problem ?

They can decide to freeze 10.13.5 (I assume it will soon be released), and open a new branch for 10.13.6.

In fact, that should not disturb anyone who just has to apply security updates for 10.13.4.

Pardon my ignorance but what do security updates have to do with this matter?

I have never seen before that betas get released before the final of a former version. Such a “freeze” is totally new to me and I work with Macs since 25+ years. Please bare with me…

>have never seen before

Maybe not in public, but I'd not be surprised if this went on in the background as a routine, and in this case, as a runup to WWDC.

What I meant is that present release is 10.13.4. And they continue to provide updates for this version, for security enhancements.

IMHO, it is up to them to decide to fork a 10.13.5 , freeze it (even though not yet released) and start a 10.13.6.

Look at Swift.

4.2 not yet releaased, but 5.0 is on the way.
