Hi all,
I tried to install the 10.14 Beta on an external SSD.
Throws an error:
com.apple.osinstall error -3
In the release notes I found:
iMac Pro might be unable to boot from certain types of external media. (40271601)
Seems like this is also applicable on MacBookAirs?
Or anybody with any other idea?

Trying it on my 2013 Air now. Will update on the progress as I go
Did that this morning on my Air, which might be of the same year than yours: all went slick and smooth. I have the boosted version though (8 GB RAM and i7 CPU), that might make a change.

Did you install on an external Disc, too?
My Air is i7 8GB as well…
Well, it turns out that not all external USB Disks are treated the same…
I changed to a different external enclosure but re-used the SSD from first try and now it works…
