Creating a install USB is super slow

When creating a USB installation disk for Mojave it is going really slow. Here is the code I am using: `/Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.14\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/newdisk --downloadassets` (--applicationpath was deprecated).

I tried different USB drives and USB adaptors and didn't get any improvement. Not sure why this is happening.

See what others experience when trying to boot from a USB drive. I’m pretty sure the USB drivers are buggy in this version.

It seems like it.

I boot from external SSD (via USB). Previously, I would hold down option and power on and see boot device options within seconds. Now it takes around 4 minutes (I timed it). Installation onto external SSD via USB via 2016 MBP -- failed... too slow? I managed to get the install and updates to work when using external SSD via USB from an iMac 4K -- but whenever there is an update, it's painful as the reboots all take around 4 minutes to start (each time).
