I am having the exact same thing happen, I tried reinstalling just like you did. Still doing the same thing. Hope there is a solution to this happening soon.
I am having the exact same problem. If anyone finds a solution, please let me know! Works great in safe mode, but freezes once booted into regular mode.
Can you open a terminal and use dsenableroot? (see man dsenableroot for more info). One you’ve a root account working, it should be easy to get your own account working with the other utilities such as dsconfigad -add (see the manpage, too)
Same problem here. However no problems in Safe mode.
Think it's some kind of networkcard driver error. If I disable network in safe mode and reboot the problem disappears.. If I add network again the machine freezes after about 10 sec.
MBP 15" mid-2017 here. No problems on my iMac 27" 2017 at all.
All, I have solved the issue and mine is now working like a charm. This may not be a one size fits all, but I was definitely having the same problem as all of you, and now I am able to boot normally. Here is what I did:
I hope this works as well for you as it did for me!
I did this exact same thing and cleaned up everything. I even saw extensions that would cause to crash from directv player but couldn't find the extensions and plugins. Either way this seemed to work and now my computer is working smoothly. Thank you so much for this.
Can confirm this process worked too! I skipped right ahead to using CleanMyMac, started removing old extensions, and the freezing issue went away.
This worked for me. Thanks 🙂
