Business name in DUNS database has a special character

Our business name in the DUNS databse has a special character "é" because it is the legal name of our university.

When trying to enroll in the developer program, apple says that our business name does'nt match the DUNS information. I tried typing the name with the "é", simply "e", a white space, simply removing it... nothing is working.

Apple support is useless. We only receive responses saying they find a DUNS number (and sending us our business name with the é character) or saying that they updated the database and wait for X days (which never changes nothing).

We are trying to register for 2 months. No idea what we could do .... 😟

Hi. Have you solved it?

Was it solved? Dealing with the same problem in 2024. Interestingly enough there is link to page where via Apple look and feel you search for your DUNS but then special characters are not possible to be pasted. It is "ł" in my case. There is no italics simplification/fuzzy match like with travelling documents when you have special characters in your name.

Hi,

for anyone that might encounter this problem in the future, what personally worked for me is contacting apple developer support throu phone, I was contacted by them the same day.

After you get started with the " contact us throu phone or email" chose cathegory " Membership and Account" and then next one" Program Enrolment". You get the choice to write and email or get a phone call, simply chose a phone call and confirm your number the support can contact you.

They will confirm the company match with the DUNS no throu the call and you will get an email stating that you can continue your enrolment.

Then you will be able to imput the company name with coresponding letter to the special chacracter f.e "e" instead of "é".

I don't think there is a way to bypass this issue without direct help form apple support.
