Two identical certificates.

I have two valid certificates in keychain that are named the same (argg) When I want to build my mobile provision, they both appear and I can't tell which is the new one. Does it matter which I pick? Can I pick both? Or is it possible to identify which is which? In Keychain, the date tells me the difference.

Do you need both certificates? If not, backup (export) and remove from Keychain the one which has the soonest expiry date.

Delete the oldest and run Keychain First Aid to tidy up.

Thanks.

Tom,

Is it then safe to revoke the certificates in the developer and distribution windows as well?

Yes, I would recommend revoking the unneeded certificates from the Member Center.

This is still a struggle to properly identify which generation of a user's certificate should be used. I have many years worth of certs all named the same. I can't simply delete old ones because they will always be needed to read items encrypted by them. But often (not always) when the GUI prompts to select a cert they are listed by name only. There's no indication about which one is current. Expiration dates or the cute little red-X icon isn't overlaid with the name.

Two identical certificates.
