Issue using third party news content in app.

Hi there,

After trying to submit a new app I've been working on, the binary was rejected.

I display data from an online news outlet - https://www.ccn.com, using a free API https://newsapi.org.

This is the reason for binary rejection:

Your app contains content or features that may infringe upon rights owned by news and media outlet, CCN.

Your app and its contents should not infringe upon the rights of another party. In the event your app infringes another party’s rights, you are responsible for any liability to Apple because of a claim.

Next Steps

To resolve this issue, please attach documentary evidence - What documentation? This is too vague - in the App Review Information section in App Store Connect.

I understand that Apple needs to verify that I can display this information on my Application, but I don't understand what I need to provide?

I'm not affiliated with CCN, so it's not like I can send the review team any official documentation that I curate or own the content, I'm just utitilsing a free news API which happens to display its content from CCN.

What documentation do I need to provide Apple?

Thanks, sorry if my format is off, I'm used to SO.

I checked CCN, and they point to 'Code of Ethics of the Norwegian Press'

You might need to use one of CCN's contact emails to make a polite enquiry concerning a 'rights-to-use' statement you can pass on to App Review.

Good luck.
