Submitting While Paused When Using "Release a version update in phases"

The document "Release a version update in phases (macOS, iOS)" does a great job of covering how to start the process of releasing the app in phases. It also talks about pausing the release. However, it does not confirm that one can submit a new release for review while a release has been paused.

I would share the link to the document. However, that would stall the submission of this post.

Just to make sure: Can one pause a release, submit a new release for review, get it approved, and then release the new version of the app?

You can only have one app in the store at a time.

With a paused phased release app in the store, pushing another version to review would be same as any normal update. When released to the store, it would replace any previous version.

In your example, tho, it might be simpler to take the app off sale in all countries, rather than to pause the phased release, putting it back on sale, then re-start a new phased release, if that's your choice, once the new version is approved.

Otherwise, to be sure, you'd need to contact support directly so they can advise you of the most current practice/process, etc.
