Updates to new versions of 10.11 keep failing

Let me clarify:

I can see the updates in the App store, download them - when the system reboots, it looks like it's doing its thing - but doesn't install anything.

When it returns after the reboot - the old version number resides.

I've looked throughout the log files and only can find a reference to an error unpacking the OSXUpd10.11.pkg.

The /Library/Updates folder is emptied after each try so it keeps downloading the update over and over again.

10 times for Beta 3, 3rd time now for Beta 4.

So it eventually managed to install Beta 3 after 10 abortive attempts? If so, do you have any idea what made the 10th time the charm?

I switched the router (UBNT USG) to the EdgeMax I used before and suddenly the downloads seem to work.

Don't think it is an El Captain problem but more of a router/download problem.

Yes, sounded like it must be a download problem.

So you've done the same and got Beta 4 installed now?

It worked flawlesly from the app store now.

Opened up a thread at the router manufacturer.

Thanks!
