Spotlight Siri Suggestions

I cant seem to get this working. Has anyone else had a problem with getting Siri suggestions snd nearby to work or show up at all? Ive tried the hard reset to no avail.

Yeah same problem here. It only worked for me in beta 1, then stoped working after upgrading to beta 2, 3 or 4. Tried everything as well, hard reset, reset to factory settings, full restore, but nothing worked. What Language & Region settings have you got? I tried both U.S and New Zealand

First off, Spotlight Suggestions are only available in the following countries:

https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/#spotlight-suggestions-spotlight-suggestions

Of course you can change your region (Settings > General > Language & Region > Region) and then reboot your device to activate it.

Secondly, older models - specifically iPod touch 5, iPhone 4s, iPad 2 and iPad 3 - apparently won't get this feature.

However, if you're in a supported country and have a supported device, the following have been found effective by various people (followed by restarting the iDevice):

  • For some the search window requires doing a bunch of searches before it starts to populate.
  • Some others have reported that disabling Spotlight Suggestions and/or Siri Suggestions (Settings > General > ...), restarting device, and re-enabling does the trick.
  • Alternatively, open the search bar to swipe right Search for Contacts > open it > search for any of the entries > open the contact. Go back now and check it by typing any contact list on the search bar.
  • Send an email from my icloud email address - to my icloud email address. (icloud -> icloud)

Hey Max, Thanks for your instructions. Unfortunately none of the above worked for me. I do have a supported device (iPhone 6 plus) and I am in a Region where spotlight suggestions are supported (New Zealand)

Siri guggestions for contacts works fine for me, but I don't get any Nearby Places. I used to get them in iOS 9 beta 1, but that stopped after upgrading to subsequent betas.

Given all that, and the fact that you had functionality and lost it, and that there's nothing in the release notes to indicate that it's a known issue, suggests that it warrants a bug report.

Yup, Bug report submited 😉 Cheers
