Provide test account for Apple validation

Hello,

I want to publish a professionnal application on the Apple Store. I need to provide a test account to Apple, so they can test the application and validate it.

Its a professionnal app, so accounts are pre-created on our side, there is no account creation.

The problem is the installation process.

User need to enter phone number and mail adress. With this two informations, we find a match in our files to know who is the user. If there is a match, we send a code by SMS and user must enter the code to finish the installation process. (To make sure it's his own phone).

Problem : Can I ask Apple to give us a (working) phone number, so I can create the account on our side, and they can receive the SMS code to finish the installation process ?

Thanks.

Probably not. Why not create a bogus account with a bogus phone number, bogus email address and bogus PIN number that can be used to complete the installation process? Then provide that information in the reviewer notes during app submission. If the app is approved, disable the bogus account on your server.

>I need to provide a test account to Apple

Perhaps not. An alternative is to create a demo video, placed on the 'net where review can access - share the link w/review via that app's meta data notes.

If app review needs more info, I'd expect them to make that request.

A demo video has the added benefit where it can be repurposed as a Preview in the store.

Okay thanks for the answers ill consider this options.

Maybe can I create a "demo mode". If user enters specific account information, it start app in demo mode, with demo ressources already integrated in the application.

Do you think Apple would be OK with that ?

Nobody can say for sure what Apple will do, but it seems plausible. Be sure to explian it all in the reviewer notes when you submit the app.

You may have another problem with:

>Its a professionnal app, so accounts are pre-created on our side, there is no account creation.

The problem is that Apple requires IAP to unlock code in an app. So they may want some assurance that those accounts do not require a payment of $100 and circumvent the 70/30 revenue split. Another relevant guideline is:

5.1.1 (v) Account Sign-In: If your app doesn’t include significant account-based features, let people use it without a log-in.....
