Hi all.
There is a serious bug with APFS formatted disks and Outlook for MAC 2016 (16.27)
To replicate the bug do this steps:
1 - Send 3 mails to your Outlook Email account with subject test1, test2 and test3
2 - Dont read the received mails (dont change their read/not read status), quit outlook and restart your Mac in the next 10 minutes after receiving the test emails (maximum).
3 - After restart, launch Outlook and search for the emails in outlook search bar typing test
(you can do the same search in the Spotlight Search Bar with the same results)
Expected result - Spotlight (our Outlook Search that uses Spotlight Engine) should return the 3 emails received
Actual result: None of the 3 emails are returned as result of the search.
Note: If the same test is done in a HFS+ formatted disk with the same Outlook version every acts as expected.
Conclusion - When Spotlight dont have the time to index emails in a APFS formated volume before a restart, it will never reindex those emails again, unless you force the Spotlight Reindex (which is a long operation if you have a lot of emails or a lot of files.
Please post if you can replicate the bug (i am sure you will).
Thanks in advance,
