Fast vs slow review time disparity

Wondering if anyone has any idea how to get an app flagged for a faster review.

We have a few apps being updated frequently, one which takes nearly a week and one which takes an hour or so to get through the process. I'm assuming these reviews are automated or fast tracked some how. Both are critical business apps and we're severly hindered by the slow review times on our main offerings.

I can't find any context or information about this, can someone elaborate or point me in the direction of why there's this disparity?

What have you tried? You know, so we don't waste time sending you around something you're already aware of...

My opinion is that the process is mostly a black box, with details being mainly case/by/case. Apple says that some take longer, depending on country, type of app, etc. Anecdotally, devs claim some apps go into review and never come out. There used to be tactics to unstick apps, but those don't seem to be nearly as rewarding now as they were at one time.

Hello SamNZ,

There are many review processes inside of the Apple ecosystem when distributing builds or other activities such as Notarization. Can you elaborate on which one that you are referring to? Below are a few examples assuming this is an iOS application.

- Validation Processing Window

- Upload Processing Window

- - This is a two step process so you might pass one and fail another.

- Beta Review

- App Store Review

- - Same as above. This is a two step process (from what I have been able to document based off of evidence) so you might pass one and fail another.

I am making an assumption that you are refferring to the last review process, but would like to confirm.

Thanks in advance for the additional information!
