This has to be the worst developer beta release I've every seen from Apple. Preview is broke. Applications associations are broke, iCloud calendars don't work anymore with the 3rd party applications. I've never been to concerned about using an Apple beta on my daily driver, but this one is full of bugs. Is there anyway to downgrade to Public beta 3 short of clean instal?
Is there a way to downgrade to Public Beta 3?
So that I understand correctly, are you on Dev Beta 5 and considering the merits of downgrading to Public Beta 3?
Or are you on Public Beta 3 and want to downgrade back to Yosemite?
I'm on Dev Beta 5 and want to go to Public Beta 3. I need a more stable enviorment, altough up until Dev Beta 5 everything was stable...lol
I'm afraid that, short of a clean install, you can't. The installer is programed to refuse to install to an earlier version (which PB 3 is, by a tiny fraction)
Fwiw though, Dev Beta 5 and Public Beta 3 are actually the same for all intents and purposes - their build numbers are nearly identical.
Dev Beta 6 is out just now - if you haven't done a clean install already, try updating to see if some of your Beta 5 issues are resolved 🙂
Beta 6 is worse. Xcode 6.x won't work. Mac won't wake up after sleep if a USB device is connected. Crashes and panics. Lots of issues I've experienced in under 12 hours.
Do you still need to go back to Public Beta 3? There is a way if you're sure that's what you want to do...
if you need a stable release, you shouldnt probably be running a dev/beta release as a main OS.
you can easily dual boot between both
"There is a way if you're sure that's what you want to do..." - if it doesn't involve a clean install I'm all ears 🙂
