More app crashes than is possible

I understand that some enhancements were made to App Analytics recently, so maybe there might be some new server-level code that's still being debugged. I'd file a radar (bugreport.apple.com) to mention that something seems fishy—the worst possible thing they can say is, "No, that's not our fault."

Say, your app doesn't involve some sort of detached helper process, does it? If so, it might be crashing, causing the main app to wonder what happened and reboot the service. Stuff like that might be able to happen over and over similar to what you're seeing in iTunes Connect.

It appears to me the number of crashes is in error (by an order of magnitude) or I don't understand the definition of the word "crash". We'll see what happens if they respond to the bug report...

Don't expect to hear a response for a while. In the meantime, you could try a little debugging yourself if, perhaps, all of those reports are correct. Download a few and look at them to see if they're describing the same issue. If you're willing, would you post one so I can see what's happening to your users?

Here's something that may shed a little light on your problem: I learned recently that many users are seeing significant discrepancies between the iTunes Connect web app and iOS app. Are you primarily using the iOS app? That might explain the wacky numbers!

He's using App Analytics on the iTunes Connect web site. The iTunes Connect iOS app doesn't show crashes (at least not that I can find).

Are you still seeing this?

I see a big difference in App Analytics number of crashes report and in the number of crashes that get downloaded into XCode Organizer.
