JavaVM.Framework

Hi,

In the last few weeks of running the 10.11 betas I have noticed that I keep getting JavaVM.Framework icons appearing in my dock.

No matter what I do I cannot kill those icons, normally they don't have the active indicator under them. If I try and force quit it does nothing. If I try and drag them to trash then the don't delete but the active indicator lights up.

Running 'ps' as root doesn't list any processes obviously associated with Java.

So not sure what is going on here.

I have been experiencing this on a Early 2013 15" MacBook Pro, I am not experiencing the same on my Mac Mini also running 10.11 at home.

Java is fully upto date

# java -version

java version "1.8.0_51"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_51-b16)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.51-b03, mixed mode)

# javac -version

javac 1.8.0_51

Any ideas?
