Xcode 7 hangs when opening storyboard

Version 7.0 beta 4 (7A165t)

File > New Project > Tabbed Application

Click AppDelegate.swift (works)

Click Main.storyboard (hangs) - App not respoinding.

Happens even on new projects. Any ideas ?

I'm not only seeing your very same problem with Xcode 7, but I'm also stuck with Xcode 6.4 which crashes when opening storyboards as described here: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/13226

I only happened after I upgrade my mac to 10.11 beta 5

My co-worker and I are both seeing this after upgrading to El Cap Beta 6 10.11 this morning.

I have the some problem.

Same issue. From the Console, Interface Builder is crashing when the Storyboard editor tries to open it.

I filed a Radar, and hopefully a future build of Xcode fixes it.

Same here 😟

In the same boat as others. The only change to my development environment since yesterday is the update to 10.11 beta that happened this morning. Yesterday I was developing and writing UI Unit Test code. Today, after the 10.11 beta 6 update, Xcode will not open a Storyboard --- it just hangs. I cannot get a build to complete either. It hangs on the step "compiling assets catalog".

Same here

Is a "Radar" in this circumstance the same thing as a bug report using the Apple Bug Reporter? Just not familiar with the term. If there's an appropriate feedback mechanism I'd love to learn it.

Same here.

Same here, just updated to BETA 6 and crashs at StoryBoard or even trying to build a simple project.

Same here. XCode 7.0 beta 4 (7A165t) and OS X 10.11 beta 6.

Same here.

10.11 Beta (15A244d)

XCode 7.0 beta 4 (7A165t)

Same problem. Happens with brand new Objective-C projects too. Yeowch. This is kind of a downer, guys. Any chance for a fix before the next beta update? This is kind of a showstopper. 😐

Same problem in Xcode 7.4 after update El Capitan Beta 6. Beta 5 was fine. Sent a bug report @ bugreport.apple.com before going to bed last night.

Did a full reinstall of Xcode 7.4. Tried to get rid of all files with 'TrashMe'. Didn't help either.

Sidenote: Unfortunately i'm just starting with iOS Development and wanted to invest some time in my first app yesterday after watching an online course over two or three weeks. Kind of a bummer not being able to play with this 😐, it's really fun so far.
