This is the new release out today? (8/18/15) but do not see it available anywhere. Please help. Thank you.
Where is 15A262c? Do not see it!!
Hi WardC,
It's been pulled. It was only available for about an hour - nobody can update now if they haven't already - it's not just you. It's gone from the catalog that the App Store on your Mac consults for updates so it's definitely gone.
My guess is that the build was meant to be added to the 10.11seed catalog rather than the 10.11beta one and the mistake was realised. It's probable that the dev beta will release properly tomorrow and that you'll get the public beta back on Thursday. 🙂
Max.
Thanks,
I knew this was a public beta released build, as several websites are reporting on it....but I am a developer here and was concerned about the new Developer Beta release (Developer Beta 7?) Which I do not see listed here, or coming in on updates, as these handful of public beta testers have gotten a new build (15A262c), which is newer than the Dev Beta 6 (15A244d) that is currently available. Was surprised this has not been made available to developers yet, but has gone out to publuc beta testers. But as you, and the other websites today are reporting, it was obviously a mistake and has been withdrawn. I guess, best thing to do is stay tuned and be patient.
Thanks
Yes, it was unprecedented - hence my assuming that was the mistake that, once realised, led to it being pulled. There's apparently a process that a beta goes through before being released - it may have had to start again.
I could still be released to devs today though - it's happened as late as 5pm PDT in the past.
My laptop grabbed it before it got pulled.
Looking quite good so far.
It's fixed the problems I was having with Steinberg Cubase eLicenser and iLok.
Still no sign of B7?
If it's coming today, it won't be for another hour and a half at least.
What we realy need is ether a new combi update or better still a new full installer..Get fed up of haveing to go through all the betas when things go wrong an I have to reinstall Takes me 6hours or more..
I'm sure hoping you are right.... This beta cycle has been rocky....
It has just appeared for me and it seems larger than previous betas.
Neither the Public nor Dev betas are combos unfortunately.
If you want to update to 5/7 from scratch, you'll have to go up through all the preceeding betas.
Download not looking too good. It started at a reasonable pace but suddenly stopped.
Probably lots of people grabbing it in the paranoia that it'll be pulled again 🙂
The Dev Beta is out now too it seems...
I cancelled and began again. Progress was adequate for a much shorter time then nothing.
Another cancel and this time seems better, with the original download amount being accessed.
It is the Dev Beta I have just downloaded. Now at the install stage, hoping my interrupted process did nothing strange.
It's strange, my App Store is showing "Public Beta 5" available, when what I am running now is Developer beta 6. I am a developer, and got the last release from the direct download links posted in the forums here. My version number I am running now is 15A244d - Developer Beta 6. I wonder why my App Store is only showing Public Beta 5, and I cannot download Dev Beta 7...my developer code shows it is already redeemed, per the original Dev Beta 1.
You must have run a Terminal command meant to set the catalog for Public Beta testers correctly - it looks very similar to the one for setting the Dev catalog correctly. Run this and it will fix you up:
sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11seed-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
Then restart the App Store.
That worked amazingly...many thanks!!
Had to do a full clean install this morning so I put Yosimite back on and with the release of parallels 11 I put OSX 10.11 in paralles was in the process of going the the through betas and beta 7 has gone straight from 5 to 7 at least it has saved a 2 gb download...
Insadently inorder to install parralel tools I had to install yosimite then update from that..
Install seems OK and once again this late 2012 iMac appears speedier, having opened a few applications.
Edit: In saying faster, Safari really has a new lease of life and Aperture is quick.
Yeah. That will get the developer seeds.
To get public seeds replace the word seed with beta like this:
sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11beta-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
If that doesn't work you can use the links instead:

Did resetting your catalog to the Developer Betas (as follows) fix the issue that your question was about?
sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11seed-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
