And again a problem with the Open/Save dialogs: they forget their size. When I open a file (beit Text Editor or Adobe Photoshop) and resize the Open dialog, the size is not remembered. On the next open the dialog is small again...
Beta 7: Open and Save dialogs do not remenber size
Correction: it is only the Open dialogs that do not remember their size, the Save dialogs do!
And only in LIST mode, in Column mode they do!
Ah! I could solve it for Text Editor and Safari by doing this: Change to colum view, resize the Open dialog, change to list view. Now the Open dialog sticks in size for Text Edit and Safari. However: this does NOT work for programa like: Firefox, Google Chrome, Adobe applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat etc). Office 2016 again remembers size, older versions do not...
Have you filed a bug with what you've figured out?
Well well, Apple apps: Fine, Office 2016: fine. Good ols InDesign/Photoshop CS6: fine
Firefox, Google Chrome: not remembering
InDesign CC/14/15: not remembering
Must be in some extra code thos apps 'inject' into the Open dialog then?
This bug has been around since the early Yosemite betas. Apple seemed to have fixed it for a short time, but it reared its ugly head again before the release of 10.10.4 and has remained present in all of the El Capitano betas.
It is strange behaviour...in some apps the file selector shrinks, in other apps it expands until it stretches off the bottom of the screen, and in yet other apps it works as expected. It is consistant though...it always expands in the same apps, always shrinks in the same apps and works as expected in the same apps.
