Updated to 10.11 beta 7. Upon restart, opened Mail.app and after a few minutes was informed that my index was corrupt, and Mail was now going to quit to repair it. App quit, index was repaired, app worked normally for a few minutes, and now it crashes upon every launch before displaying any UI.
10.11 Beta 7 Mail.app Crashing
I have a Mail glitch too (but it didn't crash). Public beta 5 just removed all my organized, archived mail folders upon running the Mail.app. A brief message said that Mail was updating. I didnt expect this as none of the other public betas messed with my stored emails.
I keep backup copies of Mail folder and restored it inside my user Library. On repeat it did it again. I suppose I must restore public beta 4 from backup as it didn't mess with my emails.
Similar happened to me in Beta 7 (only on one computer). Crashes every launch before UI loads. Looks like it was an issue with a gmail account. Removing all accounts, launching mail, and then adding them back one by one seems to have worked.
I encountered the same issue. I deleted the index files (~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData/Envelope Index*) and this allowed me to launch Mail.app again. Not sure if the issue will return once the index has been fully rebuilt.
This continues to happen to me on my iMac and MBP. From a thread somewhere I was advised to delete Envelope.index and ExternalUpdates.store data and then reopen Mail. On the MBP it seems to work and stick as a fix (so far) but when I updated the iMac to beta 7 today I followed the same process and mail keeps crashing.

Also having this issue. Only happening on the Mac Pro... MBP seems to avoid this somehow. The fixes mentioned above seem to resolve the issue for about 5-10 minutes before Mail begins crashing again.
Also having this issue. Here is my log. I cant find the index files you refer to ((~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData/Envelope Index*)
I tried a "go to folder" search, then a normal search, then used terminal - no luck
Here is my report after app crashes:

Happening on my iMac as well. Same error message, seems to be a communication issue with GMail. Darned annoying too. First seemed like it would crash once or twice then work fine, now I am having trouble keeping it running. May have to turn off the GMail account until resolved. Happening with 10.11.1.
