iOS9 Beta - Suddenly phone needs reactivation.

Hi,

I have an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS9 beta. My phone was starting to run very sluggish so I held the Home & Power Buttons to do a reset. Apon reset I have the 'Hello' Screen appearing and asking me to activate my phone. I only have access to Cellular (No Wifi) but it will not reactivate. I also am no where near my computer with my itunes back up o it. I need my phone but am locked out.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

The install file you download has the word "restore" in it, but you can install it through iTunes as an "update" not a "restore" by option-clicking the "Update" button in the phone summary page of iTunes. This causes a file open dialog to appear, from which you can select the "restore" file you downloaded from Apple.

I ran into the exact same problem yesterday when I reset my iPhone (Home & Power button).

I wonder if this was a mistake on Apple's part? It looks like everyone was forced onto this screen. I never had a problem before with resetting my iPhone 6 with beta installed, but yesterday when I reset my iPhone, I was brought to a "Hello" screen, which forced me to set up my iPhone as a new phone and install the latest version of iOS 9 beta. Now I am stuck without all my important data, which is all backed up on iOS 9 beta 1.

I think it may be possible to retrieve the backup if I was able to re-install iOS 9 Beta 1. Does anyone know if it's possible to download/install this version of iOS 9? And if so, where would we be able to find a copy? Thanks

It seems the only way to download any beta now is if you have a full developers account which is $99 US. But it still wont help the public testers. From reading up on the subject it seems the only way to move from one beta to the next for public beta testers was to do a full wipe and restore each time. And now the public beta downloads are unavaliable anyway to download.

On the plus side I was able to plug my phone into my Windows PC and back up all my photos and videos which will help. I guess besides that once i manage to get home and restore my phone ill be loosing over a month worth of my life on my phone.

Try simply removing your SIM and see if that allows you to activate your phone...

iOS Betas are expiting after a certain amount of time (few weeks), you have to update to the last one (beta 5) but, at least for me, OTA update is not working. Download the update from the developer center and use iTunes to update. Once a beta expires you are not able to activate then device unless you update to a newer beta.

You can't do this if you are a public beta tester sadly
