iPhone 5s Beta 1 expired

I've downloaded Public Beta 1 on my iPhone 5s and, today, it expired.

I have a lot of photos of a trip, and I can't lose them. I tried to open the directory on my pc, but it's kind of blocked.

Is there any way to recovery this photos before reseting the iPhone?

First of all, try removing the SIM and see if it allows you to activate your iPhone.

If not, you are going to need to download some 3rd part software to access your photos. Google "free windows iphone browser". You may have to try a couple of options until you can find a genuinely free one that will rescue your photos before restoring back to 8.4.1.

Let me know if this answers your question 🙂

It doesn't allows to activate without a SIM card. I'm gonna try this browser you said.

I'm thinking of another alternative: can I install beta 5 as a developer? Do you think it will work?

I apologize for my English, i'm a Brazilliam guy!

Yes, if you have a developer membership, you can download iOS 9 Beta 5 from here: https://developer.apple.com/ios/download/ and click the Update button in iTunes while holding shift (shift is for Windows - hold alt if you have OS X) to update to it - you need to choose the .ipsw file that downloaded from the link above.

Your English is okay 🙂

but, can I install beta 5 with my iphone blocked this way? Can I update it from Public Beta 1 to Dev Beta 5?

I think i can't make this with Public Beta 3, through the pc, because it needs a profile, right?

I have not tried updating from PB 1 to DB 5 via iTunes after PB 1 expired so I can't be exactly certain. However I have tried many similar things and I think it will work. But if you are thinking of buying a developer membership for this then that's up to you - there is no guarantee 🙂

I'm trying to download the ''Xcode 7 Beta 5''. I have to install this at iTunes, pressing shift, right?

What I didn't understand is: didn't I have to be a Developer to download Beta 5?

No you do not need Xcode 7 - that is something else. You need the iOS 9 beta from the link I gave above. But if you are not a developer, it would be a lot cheaper to use my original idea.

MAAAANNN I DID IT! I SAVED MY PHOTOS!!!

I tried to open the directory again, and it WORKED!

Can you help me restoring the iphone? itunes says that i have to disable 'Find My Iphone', but i can't go to Settings>iCloud.... What i have to do??

thanks!! 🙂 🙂

First you have to downgrade to 8.4.1 - this will wipe your device though. From there, you can restore to an old 8.4 backup if you have one or update back to the latest iOS 9 beta. So:

  1. Go to iCloud.com and disable "Find my iPhone" for your device - this will wipe it.
  2. Make sure that you're using the latest version of iTunes.
  3. Turn off your iPhone and leave it off.
  4. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
  5. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  6. When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't try steps 3 through 5 again.
  7. When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
  8. Accept iTunes prompt to restore it back on iOS 8.4.1

If you then want to go back to iOS 9, don't restore yet from a backup. Just reinstall the profile from https://beta.apple.com/ using Safari on your phone and update. You'll then be able to restore from your iOS 9 backup (Post a new question if you have any trouble with this).

Max.

I made it! I'm on iOS 8.4.1 now!

Thank you very much, you helped me a lot! How can I help you here? I voted as ''Correct answer'' in every reply you made. Is there anything else?

That's great, I'm glad it's sorted for you 🙂
