iPhone 6 stuck in recovery loop

Hi!

Suddenly my iOS Public Beta expired. Now my phone is stuck in a recovery mode loop, just showing the connect iTunes sign. I'm not able to exit recovery mode. I'm not able to downgrade to 8.4 through iTunes, and I would really try to save my photos before I try to wipe my phone. iTunes starts the update process, but it fails when it seems to be finished. I can get my phone in DFU mode, but that doesn't help. After exiting DFU mode it goes back to recovery mode. I've tried to exit recovery mode through many different 3rd party programs, but nothing helps.

Any suggestions to get my phone back on track?

Hi Nerdal88,

I think you're going to have to give up on your photos, but I hopefully following the steps below will get your phone back on track with 8.4.1. There is a timeout feature (15 mins) in iTunes mode that keeps the phone from getting the image burned in as well as being forgotten about in that mode - so if your network is slow, it won't download 8.4.1 quickly enough.

iTunes will have continued downloading the iOS 8.4.1 .ipsw file to the following folder:

Mac: (you can press shift+cmd+G from Finder and copy-paste the following into it):

~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates/

Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates

Copy or move the .ipsw file in there to your desktop and open iTunes again with your phone in Recovery Mode.

Windows: Holding the shift key, click the "Restore" option and select the .ipsw file that you moved to the desktop.

Mac: Holding the alt/option key, click the "Restore" option and select the .ipsw file that you moved to the desktop.

Let me know how you get on 🙂

Max.
