iphone 5c can not restore down to 8.4 from 9... did not follow guided steps. help??? please!

So i was curious and wanted to try out the public beta. but then out of nowhere my phone was unable to connect to my carrier (At&t) i check the site and other friends to make sure it wasn't the network. so of course I called apple support. they told me to reset to factory setting and try again.

I managed to reset it so then i got home plugged it to itunes and then tried to restore it. then phone put itself in recovery mode and then phone started the process but then about 3/4 of the way an error message popped up.

tried again a few times, same message. consulted the semi-wonderful realm of Youtube to see what i was doing wrong, even put phone in DFU mode.. same error message... so basically i have a nice paperweight iphone 5c right now... and apple doesn't want to help at all. what do i do??

I need to get my phone fixed ASAP. im in the military and need to stay in contact with superiors. the help would be much appreicated.

yes it did the checksum was the same as above, so if its a hardware issue what should i do? Do you think its covered under the AppleCare Plus?

If your AppleCare is current then I would think yes, in theory. The trouble you may have is that when they hear the words "iOS beta", they are trained to write the issue off as related to that even when it isn't (and if DFU mode isn't helping then it isn't). You're particularly vulnerable to this as a Public Beta tester because you don't have access to Apple Developer Support.

Make absolutely sure that you've tried every DFU method before giving up...
