how to connect to a medical instrument with iPad

We want to connect to a medical instrument with ipad. The medical instrument is like a wifi hotspot, but does not include bluetooth module. What we did before was encoding the ip address in the ssid, the app would get the ip address, then connected to the instrument. But in ios9 beta5, the getting ssid functions are blocked. How can we connect to our medical instrument without ssid? Or is there a way to read the router ip adress or DNS ip address?

the best way would be to use another technique to find the ip address. you should check if your instrument supports mDNS or other discovery tecnologies.

Unfortunately, our instrument does not support other discovery technologies. We already have hundreds of customers, it would be expensive to update all instruments. Is there any software method to solve our problem?

Try those:

but I'd strongly suggest to start planning a discovery feature in your HW in the near term or you might

find yourself in real trouble sooner or later.

Dwery, thanks a lot! Yes, I agree with you. We will consider to update our instrument seriously.
