OS X El Capitan Safari beach ball freezes persistently in OS X El Capitan Version 10.11 Beta (15A278b) in MacBook Pro (mid 2009), very buggy, anyone else?
OS X El Capitan Safari beach ball freeze
Still having the same issue, it's been pinwheeling since I upgraded to El Capitan the day it came out. Continues with 10.11.2. I don't have Flash installed, refuse to install it and use Chrome whenever I need it so that's not what's causing it for me. Sometimes I need to force quit and restart Safari a few times before it will stop, and it seems to only happen with certain sites (Google is probably the worst). Persists after a PRAM reset, clearing the cache, restarting normally, everything. Ran diagnostics at the Apple repair center I used to work at and everything came up fine so it's not a hardware problem. Checked Activity Monitor when it happened a few times and Spotlight was taking up ~80% of the CPU, Safari wasn't even notable.
Using a MBP 13-inch Retina Late 2013 with 4 GB of RAM and a 2.4 GHz processor.
thank you, your advice helped me too
I have the same issue as well.
I used to have an beach ball issue in 10.11.1 when searhcing using the built in search bar with Safari, but with the 10.11.2 update, that looks to have been fixed.
However, that problem has now been replaced by safari freezing and not being able to click on anything on websites from time to time, which is actualy more annoying than the original search freezing issue in the previous build.
Can anyone please help to solve this issue? Safari is fairly annoying to use right now.

Also having this issue. It's driving me nuts.
2015 MacBook Pro 13in
Same here! My Imac freezes, force quit is useless and I have to do a hard reset.
This happens constantly and made Safari useless, but I need to use it since I have a lot of passwords synched which I change a lot.
This already made me loss a lot of work and waste hours and hours trying to resolve the issue. Maybe I "Better Call Saul"...
2011 Macbook Pro using El Capitan 10.11.3 and Safari Version 9.0.3 (11601.4.4) The browser is useless 95% of the time. Hangs and half loads most sites. CPU usage renders doing anything else.
Since this is about the OS X public/app store version, those user-centric posts may be better suited for Apple's public community support forums rather than here in the developer/IDE forums, thanks.

I've been dealing with this ever since the most recent Safari update (version 9.1.2 in El Cap), and whenever Im typing, stop to fix a mistake, go to delete, it freezes.. just randomly. it's NEVER done this and my imac is NEW... but this is ridiculous! In the Activity monitor, the "Safari Web Content (Not Responding)" turns red... i have to "force quit" that action for it to "refresh" that page... but it'll end up doing it all over again.
I've also done the clearing history, cache, cookies, reboot, disabling extensions, and everything I can think of... it'll work for a bit and then BOOM... starts all over again. Not sure what's causing it.
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS ISSUE and FIXED IT?
Getting the exact same activity on my new iMac 5K. Experienced in El Cap, and now, Sierra.
Same issue 10.11.6 MBP Retina 15" for months now and I am losing my mind. ***!?
Still no response at all from Apple?
Going to file another support ticket. Between this and my iPhone text freezing and apps crashing left and right it's like Apple armageddon my world. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE that they haven't fixed these issues or delayed the release until they solved this.
Does anyone know if 10.12 makes it worse or actually helps?
I have the same problem!! Hey Apple!! fix the problem!! 😟😟😟
(2012 iMac)
I am also having this problem for the first time ever since updating to MacOS 10.12. I just want to go back to 10.11 when this wasn't a problem. iTunes hangs with the beach ball of death all the time, computer hangs when shutting down....it's horribly annoying. Please help Apple!
