Multitasking with any two apps

Will appLe ever make it so you can multi task with any two apps

Only on specific devices. The iPad Air 2 is supposed to have this feature but, it does

require the apps support it.

Just by curiosity, any idea what governs what will be listed in the slide over bar? The reason I ask is I made a very quick Hello World app with no extra code and it appears in the slide over bar on my ipad air 2. I made it on Xcode 7 GM and at the time I used the IOS 8 target. Now that i've updated my ipad air 2 to IOS 9, the app appears in the slide over bar.

I thought initially that perhaps you only had to compile with xcode 7 for it to appear in the bar but I've noticed some apps have updated from the app store for IOS 9 and they don't appear in the slide over bar so I have no idea what governs it, or what code is required because like I said, I just made the simplist Hello World app and tested it on my ipad and it appears.

One thing to check for is covered in the Adopting Multitasking Enhancements on iPad doc.

To opt out of being eligible to participate in Slide Over and Split View, add the

UIRequiresFullScreen
key to your Xcode project’s
Info.plist
file and apply the Boolean value
YES
.
