Will I be able to create iPad Pro only Apps?

Good question. I'm looking for simular information.

I've just updated my app to support Slide Over and Side By Side. For the iPad this was relatively easy as it was a matter of removing content or just changing layout a bit to facilitate the (7) smaller screen regions. I've now tested my app on the Pro-simlator and indeed it looks absurd. The screen is just huge and it basically needs an enhanced screen layout, just like the move from iPhone to iPad.

At least for now, I would rather not have my app to be available on the Pro untill I've got a clean and well tested design.

I might even make that a seperate paid app.

At the moment it looks like opting in to Side-By-Side (storyboard launch screen) also is an opt-in for Pro support?

Is there any way to opt-out from Pro support?

"Here's your shiny new iPad Pro, and here's all of the apps that won't work on it" is exactly what Apple never wants to say.

So at most what you could hope for is that an application is going to get a compatibility mode (like the compatibility mode that iPhone apps run in on the regular iPad).

Disclaimer: I haven't checked to see if there are any flags/setting which need to be set to enable support for the whole sized screen (like what happens on 3.5" vs. 4" iPhone/iPod touch screens) on a Pro yet.

I plan to create a game that you just can play with the Apple-Pencil. Is there a way to limit it to iPad Pro? Better, just for iPad Pro with registerd Pencil?
