OTA 9.1 Beta just came!

Yes and without thinking I installed it. I really wanted the 9.0 GM but it is what it is I guess. I can always do a clean install if I have to. So anyway some of you having issues installing from the download page check your device.

Hi again, 🙂

Yes, as you point out, Apple haven't (yet) pushed a GM equivalent for PB testers - and it's beginning to look like there may not be one before the 16th, which is when you'll be able to update PB 3 to the full release of iOS 9.0.

I hope you don't mind if I mention the following on your thread Thcri, - I want to publicise it as much as possible to avoid frustration for Public Beta testers come the 16th:

If you want to simply update to the final version of 9.0 when it is released, you should not update to 9.1 because then you'll have to wipe your device before being able to go back to the release version. Also, between now and then you may very well overwrite your iOS 9.0 backup with a 9.1 one which will make it inaccessible after your device is wiped and back on the release version of iOS 9.0

Thanks,

-Max

Good point Max. Now I wished I would not have installed it but as I said it is what it is. Thank goodness I only did it on my iPad and not my phone also.

Yes, it's not such a big deal unless you're tired of betas and it's your only device 🙂

I have a quick question related to the part in bold... I wasn't paying attention and I just downloaded the iOS 9.1 beta on my iPod but have not installed it yet. Is there any way to make it go away so that I can just download and install the final release of iOS 9.0 next week once it's released, or am I commited to installing the 9.1 beta now?

Thanks in advance!

No, it's not too late 🙂

  1. Unenroll from the Beta Program by going to https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/unenroll and use the link at the bottom.
  2. Go to Settings > General > Profiles. Select Apple Beta Profile, scroll down and hit delete, then yes on the confirmation.
  3. Select Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage. Then, when the app list loads, you should see the iOS 9.1 download - Select this and then delete - now you'll remain on 9.0 Beta 3.
