In House App without Apple Approval

I'm very new to app development so I apologize in advance.

Is it possible to create an app for in house use only (not for distribution in the App store) that uses not approved API's or work arounds? Liken this to creating a jailbreak app for internal use only. If it never has to be distributed publicly, does it matter how the app is constructed / works (as long as I understand the risks?)

There are a few jailbreak apps that would really benefit my sales force, like having their calendar on the lock screen. I will not jailbreak anyone's phone, but what if I created an app on my own that replicated the functionality. It would never pass the appoval process, but it would be infinitely helpful for my company internally. There is an approved app in the store that does smething similar but I do not like the implementation. So, is something like this feasible? Creating an app that would never be approved due to it's nature? Thanks!

The nature of the Enterprise program is that Apple does NOT approve your app. It is never in the app store, so you are free to basically do what you want.

These are apps that are deemed only for use within your enterprise. So the short answer is Yes, you just have to distribute it yourself.

Not entierly true. Apple does reserve the right to require your to submit InHouse apps for review in the Enterprise agreement, unless that changed from last time I read it in detail. However, I have never heard about that happening in real life.
