El Capitan will only boot in "Safe Boot"

I've installed the El Capitan beta and I'm having some issues. The install seemed to go flawlesly, however it will not boot. I can get booted into Recovery Mode, and I can boot into "Safe Boot". Other wise I get a progress bar that gets about 3/4 of the way and stops, then a black box containing white text shows up in the Left of my screen and it reboots.

I've done some reading, tried some different things, tried removing VirtualBox, still having the same issues.

What you've described is to others that had 3rd party kernel extensions (kexts) installed that cause El Capitan to crash on boot because of the way it's new security measures fail to handle them. I'm happy to help see exactly which ones are causing the issue in your case. A quick question though, as it will speed up troubleshooting via Terminal commands:

Is your normal partition still called "Macintosh HD"? (It will be unless you renamed it)

Max.

Ditto above what max108 said. Mine would hang at the grey bar, and that was it. I had some of the specific kext files that are not working, and that kept the OS from booting at all.

Boot into recovery mode (I had to option boot and select recovery partition)

Go to the menu and select terminal

remove offending kext files (there is a list on here somewhere)

exit, restart, rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns.

@Trueblood - the "list"s referred to in this post were generated through me troubleshooting this issue with others. I first look at the kexts on a specific system, and this starts with the question I asked you above - then I tailor the kext removal to your system. Simply running the command "list" I've posted on other threads for other setups would be a very hit-and-miss approach.

Max,

Yep, my normal partition is still named "Macintosh HD" tha ms for helping me on this.
