Siri not working on my tvos remote

Wondering if I have an issue with the tvos remote that came with my developer kit. When I press the Siri button, I get a prompt telling me to hold down the button while I speak. It then scrolls through a list of suggestions. However, pressing and holding the Siri button doesn't do anything - it's not reacting to speech. I've checked that Siri is enabled in my Settings. Any ideas?

Is Siri via ATV allowed in your country? Did you check the list?

It doesn't work for me either - I figure it's not turned on in this build.

In my country Siri seems to be "disabled" because login atv with my apple-id turned Siri off. I need to develop with Siri. What is the proper way to enable Siri with apple-id connected to non-US-store?

Hi Guys

I had the same problem but it was an easy fix. You need to go into the settings for app store and change you location to USA. I don't remember the exact path, but you can find it elsewhere on this forum.

OK, it's working now, after being unplugged for a while. Location was always set to USA, so that wasn't the problem. Who knows? But now that I have it working, I think Siri is a killer feature for Apple TV.

After what being unplugged, the remote, or the TV itself? I'm getting the same behaviour, pressing the Siri button prompts me to talk, but it doesn't seem to be hearing me, don't get any UI when I hold down the Siri button.

It was working for me in first build but not working on new build. Not sure what went wrong.

I have the same issue, can get Siri to appear but she can't appear to hear me. I have a US developer account. I figured it was just the first beta, but after installing beta 2, I see the same thing. Really seems like the mic is dead on this remote if others are able to use Siri properly in the US. Who would I even contact about that?

I've noticed the same thing. Unfortunately, leaving the Apple TV unplugged for a duration of time did nothing...

It (may) have been caused by me changing the language to Japanese, but the Siri HUD still shows up when the button is clicked.

Disconnecting the remote (Menu and + for 5 seconds) does nothing to solve the situation.

Turning the remote off (Home and – for 5 seconds) also does nothing

Same here.

In settings there is no "location" setting, just timezone (and it is set to New York). Location services are turned off at the set up stage (don't know how to enable them back again).

don't know how to enable them back again

For me Siri is only speaking (with sound) when voice over settings are activated.

Why do you need to develop with Siri? There's no API for Siri or the microphone.

Siri started working after I plugged the Apple TV into an HDTV instead of to a monitor (through a HDMI-DVI adapter.) Not sure why that made the difference, but it did.

I lost Siri too, It use to work but stopped working the same time the TestFlight app dissapeared. I evne tried switching WiFi networks to see if the country detection was set by IP as others have mentioned bt still no Siri or TestFlight. 😕
