submitting as a contractor - how is it done ?

I've been approached to develop a utility app that goes with just the client's industrial service and it's about ready for lodgement.

I'm in Au and he's in the UK. I'm registered as a single independent developer, not as an enterprise dev, but i believe I can be a contractor.

The app is essentially his, so should i :

- get him to register into the dev programme

- send him the .xcodeproj file ( and folder ) and walk him through the process via Teamviewer ( least desirable )

or

- get his Apple Login details and just submit from my 'puter pretending I'm him

or

- submit to my own iTuness connect account and its a matter of trust between us how I report app sales etc

or

- is there another way that most use?

Accepted Answer

I think that covers it. Work it out from there w/your client, in that order.

all three options are loaded with potential headaches. I was wondering if there was a fourth, or fifth.

I'm leaning toward #2 but it means I'll have to pay special attention to managing prov. profiles, certificates.

It's not that complicated, actually.

The account is theirs, so either they do the submittal or someone does it for them. You'va laid that out correctly.

Now you need to decide along with the principal, and what happens next depends on how that discussion goes and which way they lean, etc. Opt. 2 means trust becomes a major factor, just as you noted. Only the two of you can work that out. As far as you being burdened w/special attentions, you'll have that load either way as long as the principal needs hand-holding during that process.
