i have my iPhone 6 in 16GB, recently about 6/7 days ago I updated my phone to iOS 9. Then yesterday with no reason suddenly my home button gets extremely hot, like i mean burning hot and I discovered that it'll be hot only if i lock my iphone. The fingerprint scan is not working, as well as the double tap to lower the screen. the point is now my homebutton really can't detect a touch nor a finger print. I tried rebooting my phone last night and when it turned on, all of my fingerprints are gone, when i tried to register it again, it says "unable to complete touch ID setup" should i update to iOS 9.0.1? Or what should i do? I can't lock my screen now because the home button will get very hot like it's going to explode
Touch ID isn't responding and hot in iOS 9
You're the first that I know of to report that behaviour on these forums, suggesting that the issue is not with iOS 9 itself. I suggest you make an iTunes backup and then proceed to diagnose as follows:
- It's possible that the issue is a glitch in your settings, requiring Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
- If that doesn't fix the issue, then the only way to be close to certain whether it's the iPhone's hardware or not is to restore the phone to factory settings as per this Apple support page: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201252
- If the behaviour continues even after that then take your phone in for repair because it's almost certainly a hardware problem.

I have had this issue twice now, the most recent was last night.
iPhone 6s, with about 70% charge. Tried to turn the phone on and it would not turn on (black screen, no buttons would turn it on).
Plugged it into power and 15 minutes later, nothing. The Touch ID was EXTREMELY HOT. Left it face down on a glass table to keep it cool and let it charge over night.
This morning, stiill dead - nothing (this is plugged into a wall outlet with the supplied power adapter).
Brought it into work and plugged it into my MacBook Pro and after a few minutes it came up with the battery symbol and one red line... a few minutes later it booted and is working again.
This happened the other day too - same situation.
(I'm running the latest beta posted prior to today).
While the Touch ID was very hot last night, I used a thermal imager to look at the phone and it read 115 F on the Touch ID area (front of phone). The rest of the phone, including the back side, seemed a normal even temperature.
The "dead phone with hot home button" issue is being reported by quite a few people with the 6s. There is at least one very long thread on the Apple support forums. You can hold down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for ten seconds, which reboots the phone, and the button temp returns to normal. At least some people are seeing it happen multiple times. I've had it happen once so far.
