I entered the iOS9 beta programme in July which seemed to kill my phone. I unenrolled my device and followed the steps of recovery mode then revert back to 8.4 I've been unable to upgrade to standard 9 without backing up then completely resetting my phone as new to lose the Public beta element that's still on my phone somewhere. Anyone any ideas why I'm still receiving the updates?
Device unenrolled but still receiving updates
You must still have the Public Beta profile installed:
- Go to Settings > General > Profiles. Select esch Apple Beta Profile(s), scroll down and hit delete, then yes on the confirmation.
- Just in case your iDevice already downloaded the iOS 9.1 update, check Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage. If you see the iOS 9.1 beta there then select it and delete.
- Restart your iDevice
Even after that, it is possible that the message will still appear (although it will no longer be possible to update to 9.1). In that case, if you want to get rid of the message as well, you'll either have to wait until you can update to 9.0.2, or use Recovery Mode to restore to 9.0.1 again.
